Privacy
How Gifts, Income & Tax Record looks after your information, in plain English.
Who we are
This site is run by EAC Integrated Services Ltd, which is the data controller for the information you keep here. Contact us at finance@eacintegrated.co.uk.
What we store
- Your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password. We can’t read your password.
- The records you add: income, spending, gifts, notes and your partner’s name if you add it.
- When you sign in, and the web browser and internet address used, to keep your account secure.
How it’s protected
Your records are encrypted before they’re saved. Only you can see them, when you’re signed in. Our staff can see your name, email address, when you joined and signed in, and how many records you have, but not what’s in them. If you ask for help, you can turn on support access from your Account page: for 7 days, EAC support can then see your record and add or correct entries. You can turn it off at any time, and everything support does is listed on your Account page. We never sell or share your information, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies keep you signed in and protect forms.
Statements you upload
You can upload a bank, credit card or investment statement to add transactions to your record. We don’t keep the statement file: it’s read, then thrown away, and only the transactions you choose to add are saved, encrypted, like your other records.
CSV and OFX files are read on our own server. If you upload a PDF or a photo, and tick the box to agree, it’s sent to OpenAI, a company that reads it and sends back the list of transactions. We ask OpenAI not to keep it, and OpenAI doesn’t use it to train its systems. If you’d rather it wasn’t sent, download a CSV file from your bank instead.
What this site is, and isn’t
The figures are estimates to help you keep records. They aren’t financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions about gifts, inheritance tax or tax refunds, speak to a solicitor, accountant or HMRC.
Getting a copy and deleting
You can download all your records at any time from Settings & backup, as a spreadsheet or a backup file. You can delete your account from the Account page. Deleting removes your account and all your records from our system straight away. Copies in our database backups are deleted when those backups expire on their normal schedule.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
